How Joule Work and SAP Business AI Platform Are Powering the Next Generation of Business AI

Joule Work and the SAP Business AI Platform provide an out-of-the-box competitive advantage for the AI era.

Joule Work rolls out to all SAP customers later this month as the single entry point to SAP Business AI Platform: grounded answers on business data, ready-made Joule Agents from the Autonomous Suite, and Joule Studio for building your own. With AI Agent Hub now GA for governing agents, LLMs and MCP servers, the stack is complete end to end: data in BDC, build in Joule Studio, run in Joule Work, govern in Agent Hub. So the architect's question is no longer which AI tool to pick. It's where each agent gets its data and identity, and whether governance is designed in at build time rather than audited after go-live. GPT-6 and Intelligent UI for everyone

GPT‑6 is rolling out globally in ChatGPT with Intelligent UI, delivering faster responses with visuals and interactive experiences you can explore and use directly.

OpenAI is rolling GPT-6 out to every ChatGPT tier, and the headline isn't the model but Intelligent UI. Instead of only replying in text, ChatGPT now builds charts, forms, calculators and interactive explainers on the fly, choosing the format to fit each question. Put that next to SAP's Joule Work pitch the same week, that users no longer learn SAP because SAP learns how they work, and the direction is clear: the UI is becoming something the model generates rather than something we design screen by screen. That doesn't retire Fiori. Transactional work still needs consistent, governed, accessible screens. But it does change the UX question for architects from "which app do users open" to "which tasks still deserve a fixed interface at all." SAP Showcases the Autonomous Enterprise in Action

SAP executives led by CEO Christian Klein demonstrated the Autonomous Enterprise powered by SAP Business AI Platform.

SAP's Connect keynote turned the Autonomous Enterprise from a Sapphire promise into a product line-up: Joule Work rolling out to all customers, 200+ Joule Agents across five domains in the Autonomous Suite, and SAP Business AI Platform underneath for context and governance. The line worth holding SAP to is that its agents run inside deterministic application workflows, with the same data, rules and audit trail as the app, while generic LLMs only give the most likely answer. Pair that with the security guidance (every agent gets a named owner, a risk tier and scoped access, with oversight tightening as autonomy grows) and the design work shifts to agent identity and per-process autonomy levels. It also shifts back to the data model, because as SAP itself admitted, no agent fixes a broken one. SAP Puts the Autonomous Enterprise to Work

LAS VEGAS — Joule Work, Joule Assistants and SAP Business AI Platform help organizations turn business AI into trusted outcomes across every core function.

The official SAP Connect press release carries the details the keynote skimmed. Joule can now hand work to third-party agents through the Agent2Agent protocol, AI Agent Hub sits inside SAP LeanIX as the central agent inventory, and SAP's AI governance is independently ISO/IEC 42001-certified. Outside AI, SAP Pay brings embedded payments into Cloud ERP, while Moody's supplier-risk data and ORO Labs orchestration plug into SAP Ariba. For architects, A2A is the line to act on: once Joule agents talk to non-SAP agents, cross-vendor agent flows need the same interface contracts, ownership and audit trail as any integration, and LeanIX becomes the place to keep that map honest. ISO 42001 certification covers SAP's side of AI governance, not yours, so it gives auditors a reference point without replacing your own controls. Bringing predictive analytics to the agentic AI era

In 2026, the question for enterprise AI is no longer whether predictive models can outperform statistical forecasts—that argument is settled. The big question now is how to enable predictive systems to act on their own conclusions without drifting from business intent. The frontier has moved from pr

This MIT Technology Review Insights piece (sponsored content) argues that the predictive-analytics debate is over and the real challenge now is letting predictive systems act on their conclusions without drifting from business intent. For SAP landscapes the point lands right after SAP Connect, where SAP said predictions on business data should come from purpose-built tabular engines (SAP-RPT and the Prior Labs model), not from an LLM guessing at numbers. The design consequence is that an agent's reasoning layer and its prediction layer are separate components. Each needs its own evaluation, and both depend on the structured data underneath being clean before any agent is allowed to act on a forecast.
